Biography

After 20 years of working as an assistant director and stage manager of multiple stage productions and dance concerts, and partaking in music, voice, and art, it was only logical that D. Perdue Henderson would become a novelist too. Her interest in character development and Why People Do What They Do, piqued her interest in psychology and sociology. After taking classes in these fields, and plenty of research, it gave her the perspective she needed to write about the more difficult subjects like abduction and depression, but in a way that is sensitive, yet entertaining. Every story captivates! You will think about the subject long after you finish reading one of her books. Her first novel Branded (CreateSpace, 2010) is a good example. It is a suspense thriller about a kidnapped child and lost innocence. A disturbing subject for some, but it is written in a way young adults can identify. Her second novel Hayden Heyer and the Twin Guardians (Twin Guardian Publishing, 2012) is the opposite – a fantasy romance with Christian themes. It introduces the reader to the basics of Christianity in a way non-Christians can appreciate, by putting it in perspective with the contrary and adding cute characters.

Moral Malfunction

We live in a world filled with hatred, greed, violence, racism, injustice, and casual sex, all things the Lord opposes, so why are we shocked when He brings devastation and death? It’s kind of expected, isn’t it, for challenging Him? Still, we are. We have already surrendered to the biases, injustice and selfishness of this …

What to do?

I have been doing research on Cuzco, Peru. I am thinking about adding it to the Hayden Heyer and the Twin Guardians storyline in book 2 but recently found out the next Da Vinci Code movie is all about the demons in Peru. Now, I’m wondering if I should add it. I don’t want them …

Dividing a Book

Writing Picture

As a writer, there are many liberties I can take when writing a novel series. I can make the character purple, from outer space, and like peanut butter, or be pregnant with a ground hog. Another liberty is the decision to break up or increase the storyline, which I have done. I decided to take …

What is love?

Most people view love as a feeling, but feelings can be misleading. Others view it as a relationship, but not all relationships last. So what is love? How about a spiritual journey? If you view it as a spiritual journey, you will find hope, acceptance, and joy – three very important elements in love.   …

Quick Quotes

From the book Hayden Heyer and the Twin Guardians – “That’s when I saw them. Walking down the hall in my direction was two of the most gorgeous specimens in the world, identical in every way and walking in unison toward me. They were confident, well built, and gorgeous. It felt like they were walking …

Why are we shocked?

We live in a world filled with hatred, greed, violence, injustice, and casual sex, all things the Lord opposes, so why are we shocked when He brings devastation and death.
